Becca Segel, PhD, is the CEO and founder of FlowCellutions, a NSF Graduate Research Fellow, and an Activate Fellow. FlowCellutions increases the efficiency and uptime of flow and metal air batteries that support critical infrastructure such as data centers, hospitals and our electric grid through smart sensing and predictive maintenance innovations. The early research for FlowCellutions stems from innovations created during Becca’s PhD at the University of Pittsburgh in the chemical engineering department. The team is currently working with four paid pilot partners to validate their technology and earn early revenue. They raised $2M from government grants, Activate, and Innovation Works. FlowCellutions' mission is to bring reliable power and efficient batteries to all communities and support a more sustainable grid.
