Renata Kimpara is currently an R&D Assistant with the Grid Systems Architecture Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. She earned her B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS, Brazil, in 2019 and 2022, respectively.
Prior to joining ORNL, she worked as a researcher working on decision systems utilizing flexible computation, including data-driven models, applying AI-based optimization techniques, and implementing hardware for power electronics converters and machine drives. Her research topics span power electronics for grid integrated systems, real-time simulation environments, artificial intelligence, and the design and operation of electric machines and drives.
